Can a political satirist question every party without being labelled a supporter of the other side? And when one 30-second clip goes viral, does the internet really know what the artist believes?

In this episode of DyWix Studio, RJ Amit Mathur sits down with Neer Gorakhpuri, a Hindi humorous poet and performer known for political satire and his appearances on Lapete Mein Netaji. What begins as the story of a middle-class boy who never imagined becoming a familiar face on television gradually becomes a much larger conversation about satire, journalism, political identity, viral clips, public perception and the responsibility of a poet to question power.

Neer looks back at a time when simply appearing for a few seconds on television felt like an achievement. He speaks about studying journalism, struggling before finding his first job, working in transport journalism, discovering the stage, and experiencing the addictive energy of an audience applauding his words.

But this conversation becomes especially interesting when poetry meets politics.
What happens when the same satirist questions BJP, Congress and other political actors—but social media disproportionately amplifies only certain clips? Does virality create an ideological identity for an artist that may be very different from the full body of his work?
Neer explains how political satire is prepared and performed, how current affairs become comedy, how spontaneous lines emerge in front of political spokespersons, and why—in his view—a poet must retain the freedom to ask uncomfortable questions irrespective of who holds power.

The conversation also moves through his observations and opinions about Narendra Modi, Rahul Gandhi, Yogi Adityanath, political communication, media narratives, public frustration and the relationship between artists and politics. These are presented as Neer Gorakhpuri’s personal views, satire and interpretations, not as factual determinations by DyWix Studio.
Beyond politics, the episode reveals something equally valuable for creators: originality is not a one-time achievement.

Neer explains why reaching a major platform is only the beginning, how he experimented with combining memes, current affairs, mimicry and poetry, and why an artist has to keep creating something recognizably his own if he wants to remain relevant.

The conversation later takes a lighter but surprisingly revealing turn into modern relationships and his viral “Mere Babu Ne Khana Khaya?” material—showing how ordinary observations can become comedy that millions relate to.
And underneath everything is one recurring idea:
A poet can entertain people, but the pen loses its purpose if it becomes afraid to ask questions.

In this episode
You’ll discover how Neer went from a government-school, middle-class background to national television; why his early struggle in journalism became part of his creative training; what applause taught him about performing; how Lapete Mein Netaji approaches political satire; why viral clips can create misleading perceptions of an artist’s politics; how current affairs become poetry and comedy; why originality matters more than simply reaching a big platform; and why Neer says he wants to keep writing and speaking without fear.
