What does Bollywood look like when you’ve actually lived inside it for years—not watched it from the outside?
TV and Bollywood actor Neyhaa Rawat joins RJ Amit Mathur at DyWix Studio for a candid conversation about the side of the entertainment industry that audiences rarely get to experience firsthand.
From arriving in Mumbai with dreams of becoming an actor to working across television, meeting some of the industry’s biggest names, walking away from opportunities, facing the hierarchy of TV sets, and being offered Bigg Boss multiple times, Neyhaa opens up about the choices that shaped her career.
But the conversation becomes far more personal when the name Sushant Singh Rajput comes up. Neyhaa says she knew Sushant during his earlier television days and remembers spending time around him before he became a major film star. She shares what she remembers about his personality, his struggle, his ambition and why—based on the person she knew—she holds strong personal views about his death.
These are Neyhaa Rawat’s recollections, opinions and interpretations, not findings presented by DyWix Studio as established fact.
The episode then goes deeper into a question bigger than any one celebrity:
What does it really take to survive Mumbai’s entertainment industry?
Neyhaa challenges several popular assumptions about Bollywood and television. She discusses casting couch stories, auditions, appearance and cosmetic treatments, industry groups, competition between established and incoming actors, the growing importance of social-media followers, artist-card scams, and why simply arriving in Mumbai with money or dreams does not make someone an actor.
She also explains why she believes education, communication, fitness, discipline and professional awareness matter just as much as appearance.
One of the most revealing parts of the conversation is Neyhaa’s own contradiction with fame.
She wanted to become an actress—but says she never wanted fame at any cost.
She recalls being offered Bigg Boss two or three times and explains why she chose not to enter a format that could expose parts of her private life she wanted to protect.
She also speaks about her father, an Army officer who initially resisted her acting ambitions, the moment he finally became proud of her career, and how losing him affected her deeply.
The conversation moves beyond glamour into money, relationships, independence and survival. Neyhaa talks about why financial independence matters for women, why relationships can become difficult in Mumbai’s fast-moving professional culture, and why an artist sometimes has to perform even while dealing with enormous personal grief.
And after years in front of the camera, Neyhaa is now thinking beyond acting.
She discusses her ambition to move toward production and storytelling connected to Uttarakhand, including her concerns about the region’s changing landscape and her desire to preserve its culture through cinema.
